Atefeh Rabiee
At Pacific Since: 2020
Atefeh Rabiee, PhD earned her bachelor of science in cell and molecular biology from Kharazmi University and her master of science in biochemistry from Azad University, Science and Research Branch. She earned her doctor of philosophy in biochemistry and molecular biology from University of Southern Denmark. In 2017, she completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at the University of Copenhagen in 2017. In 2017, Dr. Rabiee was awarded a prestigious 4-year Stanford Bio-X Foundation Fellowship for visiting postdoctoral research scholars, a collaboration between Novo Nordisk, Denmark and Stanford University.
Dr. Rabiee’s profound interest in disease biology and her ability to unravel the mechanisms of human diseases has driven her career in biochemistry, cellular and molecular biology, and physiology and metabolism. She is deeply motivated by the critical role that basic science researchers play in preventing and treating human diseases. Dr. Rabiee is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Diabetes Association, the American Physiological Society and the American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics. She serves as an advisor to Pacific’s Rho Chi Society, Beta Omega chapter. Rabiee is also a reviewer and editor of several highly-ranked international journals and funding agencies.
Inspired by the achievements of alumni from Pacific’s Pharmaceutical and Chemical Sciences Program (PCSP), Dr. Rabiee is dedicated to contributing to the personal and professional success of Pacific students through her teaching. She believes that the success of PCSP alumni reflects Pacific’s commitment to fostering a student-centered learning environment.
In her leisure time, Dr. Rabiee enjoys watching movies and biking. One of her greatest joys is spending time with her two daughters.
