McGeorge School of Law professor recognized as a leading scholar in reproductive rights and justice
Ederlina Co, professor of law at the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law, is a strong advocate and nationally recognized scholar in reproductive rights and justice. She gives lectures to students, faculty, and the legal community about abortion rights and is often called on by the media to share her expertise.
Her research and scholarly work are focused on issues that arise in the areas of reproductive rights and justice.
In recognition of her work in educating the community and fellow lawyers, Co was presented with the 2022 Community Service Award from Women Lawyers of Sacramento, a bar association dedicated to the advancement of women in the legal profession. Co also received Pacific's annual Women of Distinction Award in 2022.
At McGeorge, Co teaches courses on Global Lawyering Skills I and II, the Prisoner Civil Rights Mediation Clinic, and Reproductive Rights and Justice. In the Clinic, Co supervises students who participate in all aspects of mediating claims – such as excessive force – that are filed in the Federal Court.
Co was recognized in the 2023 Pacific Magazine as one of the "People of Pacific."
